Bellafill’s tiny, polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) microspheres are suspended within a base of smooth collagen gel. Once injected, the collagen gel immediately reduces the look of smile lines. Over time, your body uses the microspheres in Bellafill to create a “scaffold” onto which your own natural collagen can develop. This collagen forms a foundation that adds volume to wrinkles, reducing their appearance – and giving you natural-looking results that feel soft and smooth for up to 5 years.

Does It Hurt?

Fair question, and the answer varies. It really depends on your pain tolerance, but we try to make it as painless as possible. If you are extremely anxious, ask us about ProNox.

BONUS TIP: the more you wax, the less uncomfortable it is.

Pre Appointment Prep?

  • Gently exfoliate and lightly moisturize the day before to remove dead skin cells and prepare the hairs for waxing.
  • Avoid oils and lotions the day of your waxing appointment.
  • We recommend you grow your hair 1/4 inch so the wax can adhere well and give you the best possible outcome. Think the length of a piece of long grain rice.

Any Specific Details For Bikini/Brazilian Waxes?

  • Keep it Loose: Loose clothing and breathable material is a must for 2-3 days post-wax.
  • No Touching: Refrain from touching freshly waxed skin; it can irritate and cause pimples.
  • Be Gentle: Refresh with a shower and keep the waxed area clean. Avoid harsh cleansers or overly scented lotions.
  • Play It Cool: Hot showers, saunas, tanning beds and steam rooms should wait for at least 2-3 days.
  • Sorry:  No sexual activity for 24 hours to avoid skin irritation/friction.
  • Toss that Razor: It will be hard but try to avoid shaving between your Brazilian or bikini waxes. Shaving creates coarser hair; routine waxing of this hair will make it thinner. Thinner hair = more enjoyable waxing appointments.

Pre-Care Instructions

How To Prepare

  • Do not shave or exfoliate the day of the treatment.
  • Schedule pedicures 48 hours apart from waxing to minimize risk of reactions.
  • Schedule waxing appointments 5-7 days prior to active chemical exfoliation or microdermabrasion, 14 days prior for
  • sensitive skin.
  • Avoid sensitizing products with artificial fragrances, harsh preservatives and dyes.
  • Get a signed consent from your medical professional prior to your appointment if there is any question about interactions with medications or sensitive health conditions. 
  • Contraindications: Accutane, Retin-A.
  • If you have a history of immune dysfunction, resistant bacterial infections or extreme ingrown hair, please get approval from your medical professional prior to appointment.
  • Please arrive freshly showered for all waxing appointments.
  • Extensive waxing including brazilian bikini wax may require special preparation. 
  • Please trim all hair to approx 1⁄4 inch in length prior to appointment for best results.

Post-Care Instructions

Aftercare

    • Avoid sunlight – light exposure without sunscreen will result in undesirable pigmentation. (freckles and patches)
    • Be gentle with your skin. Do not use exfoliating products or acne treatments or alpha hydroxy acid products for 5-7 days. 
    • Focus on moisture and barrier protection, with items like barrier repair, vaseline or desitin ointment.
    • Do not re-wax over treated area for 5-7 days, or 14 days for sensitive skin.
    • Avoid products with artificial fragrance and dyes.
    • When receiving brazilian wax, avoid sexual contact for 48 hours after waxing.
    • Gently exfoliate with loofah, white washcloth or aha cleansers to prevent ingrown hairs between waxing sessions.
